Emotional freedom technique (EFT)is one of the most exciting, powerful techniques developed over the last two decades. It is also commonly known as ‘tapping’. It is one of the new ’Energy Psychologies’ with its roots in acupuncture, kinesiology and psychology. It’s like an emotional form of acupuncture without the needles, you simply tap specific points on your body with your fingertips. EFT is based upon the discovery that imbalances in the body’s energy system can have a deep effect on a person’s psychology. Feeling an unwanted negative emotion causes the energy flow in the meridian pathway to become disrupted. EFT is a gentle method which aims to directly rebalance the disrupted energy. It’s almost like clearing a log that’s blocking a stream, the log being a stuck emotion in your stream of energy (meridian). Each session will last approximately an hour and takes place sitting normally in a chair. EFT can be used to help improve negative emotions, limiting beliefs or negative thought patterns.
